Echternach – They do not look at all alike, but they serve the same purpose: making workplaces more agreeable. At the EMO in Milan (hall 3, booth E02/G01), FANUC first presents the new heavy payload robot M-2000iA with 1,7 t capacity. Another first at the EMO: the green collaborative robot CR-35iA, with its 35 kg payload range which is much in demand for industrial applications. The focus of the FANUC robot exhibition is on sophisticated yet efficient and reliable applications.
The robots of the M-2000iA series are engineered for new, flexible production concepts without hard automation. At the EMO, the robot demonstrates its performance by lifting and positioning a complete Fiat 500L. The reach of the new robot is 4683 mm, and measured from the robot's lowest gripping position, which is significantly below mounting position, the total lifting height is 6.2 m. Although the mechanical unit is completely new, the M-2000iA uses the same compact R-30iB controller as all the other FANUC robots.
With the collaborative CR-35iA, FANUC introduced an entirely new class of robot. Shortly after its roll-out, the green robot will present its intelligent features in three example applications closely related to actual manufacturing situations. Trade show visitors will be able to observe the CR-35iA bin-picking with iRVision and loading a Robodrill machining center. In another application, the CR-35iA will show the 'hand-guide function' and intelligent safety functions which are designed to boost the use of collaborative robots.
The loading of a Robonano (a super accurate milling machine) by means of a commercially available LR Mate robot shows standard robot technology and new technology milestones working hand-in-hand.
