Compact, fast and durable
FANUC presents its new, fast M-410iC/110 palletising robot at the EMO show
Echternach, Luxembourg FANUC will be presenting its fast, new four axis M-410iC/110 palletising robot for the first time at the EMO 2017 show (18. to 23.09., Hall 25, Stand A75). The design concept of this robot is heavily based on the successful FANUC M-410 model series. This four axis robot is predestined for applications in restricted workspace due to its outstanding kinematics, that allow it to achieve the best possible level of efficiency within a given occupied workspace.
The new M-410iC/110 has a payload of 110 kg, a horizontal maximum reach of 2,403 mm and a maximum palletising height of 2,238 mm. The outstanding features of this series include slim design, efficient use of the workspace as well as high motion performance. Unlike its big brothers (with load capacities up to 700 kg), a “small” working range of 2,400 mm achieves an extremely high throughput of 2200 cycles per hour, which makes this robot the fastest palletising robot in its class.
The robot will be shown at the EMO on an endless palletising application with cardboard boxes. Short movements of this application perfectly illustrate high motion performance and dynamics of this robot. It will be easy to see that this robot is not only exceptionally well-suited as an end-of-line palletiser, its compactness also makes it suitable to be used as an in-the-line integrated transfer unit. For example, it can be installed as a preforming unit for single layer pattern or used as an order palletizer in a logistics centre to form pallets.
Thomas Schneider, product manager at FANUC, believes that, “End users, plant builders and system integrators will also quickly recognise the potential that this robot offers in upgrading and refurbishing of existing palletising systems. This robot allows the use of new, extremely efficient, palletising performances in existing old palletising systems. Such an investment can quickly become an advantage, for production operations that are dependent on the efficiency of their systems”.
This new high performance M-410

C/110 robot completes the line-up of FANUC palletising robots in the lower payload range.
In addition, FANUC will also offer the PC-based PalletPro palletising software. This plug-in, which is supported in the RoboGuide simulation software, will enable the offline generation of complex palletising patterns to be developed away from the production area. Upon completion of the patterns, the results can be downloaded and applied to the robot.
As Thomas Schneider explains: “Production operations cannot afford to stand still while new palletising patterns are created, therefore, offline developments of new patterns using PalletPro should not be the exception, but rather the rule”.
FANUC is hence able to offer a cost-effective and complete solution from a single source, in order to simplify the first contact and day-to-day use of such units for system houses as well as end users. The professional support from our local subsidiaries complement the high availability of FANUC palletising solutions.
This combination, together with the necessary knowledge of the interaction between the robots and the functionality of the software, is demonstrated by FANUC's decades of experience in the palletising sector. In-house developed hardware and software, wide robot range, as well as FANUC’s renowned high availability, make FANUC one of the world’s leading robot manufacturers.[KM(U1]

RPickTool for picking up products on a conveyor belt. Through a wide range of additional hardware and software options, the robot can be tailored to various application requirements. FANUC also supports all common industrial fieldbus systems, making it as simple as possible to integrate its robots into a line or to a host (e.g. PLC).
