For the first time in Düsseldorf, Germany, the 19th international fair Schweißen & Schneiden will be taking place. With focus on the future of joining, cutting and surfacing technologies, this fair has attracted more than 1,011 exhibitors and 54,497 visitors in 2013! 48.0% of the visitors coming from abroad, demonstrates the relevancy for welding technology, automation and intelligent production systems.

This year, FANUC will exhibit its complete solution for intelligent welding production, including its latest welding and laser innovations introduced through new laser-robotic systems, a wide variety of welding applications in action as well as new welding training opportunities.

Robot Laser welding cell

For the first time, FANUC will introduce a laser welding cell that is combined with the FANUC fibre laser FF 6000i-A, developed together with FTT. While a FANUC R-2000iC robot performs the indicated welding in the cell, a M-20iA/35M robot is used to feed the cell.

DualArm Laser Pipe Cutting

Operating in a cell, FANUC will show the combination of laser and DualArm technology where two M-710iC robots work together on three-dimensional pipe cutting. In this process, one robot holds the tool and the other robot, equipped with a Precitec cutting head, performs the cutting motion.

Jigless Welding cell

The System integrator H. Euen is presenting its cell without any rigid apparatus or fixing of workpieces (“jigless welding”), where an R-2000iC robot deals with the part handling, while an Arc Mate 100iC/12 performs the arc welding to finalize the frame of an E-Cart.

DualArm Exhaust MIG Welding cell

The advantages of DualArm technology are especially visible in the case of long parts or assemblies, such as when welding an exhaust system. Besides robots, other axes, such as the H-positioner, can be operated on a control system. The welding process will be demonstrated with two Arc Mate 100iC/8L robots using welding equipment from Fronius.

Advanced Spot Welding with robot

The FANUC R-1000iA/80F robot is presented in a spot welding application with lightweight gun“SpeedGun 10K”, provided by the system integrator LEWA Attendorn.

Förster Educational Welding cell

For the first time, the welding cart, which was developed by welding specialist and system integrator Förster Welding Systems in cooperation with FANUC, will be presented. It is a mobile table which has been fully equipped for training purposes and can be used both for commercial training as well as for study purposes.

FANUC’s laser advancements

Through the conceptual study of the laser cell, FANUC has extended its range of applications in the field of cutting to the constantly growing field of laser welding. The fibre laser used is currently the most powerful laser from FANUC, this series of lasers is scaled in kW increments, down to the smallest beam source with 1kW. These lasers work with a wavelength of 1.064 µm.
